Loki’s being awesome again!

Loki’s little nestLoki’s being awesome again!
What’s really cool about these photos isn’t that he’s being adorable but that he listened when I told him to stay and got the camera and set it up to take the photos. I gave him a treat after the first and he rolled on his back for scratches and I realized I had to shoot that too, so I told him to stay and went back to the camera and he did!

Treats for ME?

Haven’t done an update on our dog Loki lately but after getting this picture at the local dog park (just down the street) and loving the look on his face as he’s about to get a treat, I had to post it.

Treats for ME?

Our dog is awesome.

Loki’s Doing Fine

I picked him up from the vet today and boy was he happy to see me.  Despite still having stitches he bounced around the car happily most of the way home and has been really excited at home since.  He finally tired himself and is sleeping at my feet right now.

I’ve got to bring him in at 3pm on Wednesday for a followup, which meshes well with my heading to Chilliwack for the first road hockey of the season.  The weather forecast for that day is a glorious 17C, variable cloudiness.  I’m really looking forward to playing hockey carrying around 50 less pounds.

Loki Update

Because of the move (and a little problem Loki has with his “boy parts”) we held off on getting Loki “fixed”.  As he’s nearly a year old (April 9th!) I finally called the vet and made an appointment for Thursday.  I dropped him off early Thursday (oh man, EARLY for me — it was halfway through my regular sleep schedule!) and they did the operation that day, saying I could pick him up early the next day.

But because of his “little problem” they had to do a bit more surgery and they phoned and said they wanted to keep him over the weekend to make sure he was peeing properly.  The longest we’ve ever been without him has been about seven hours when we were out visiting friends.  He’s utterly dedicated to us, and with his absence I’ve come to realize just how important he is to me.We visited him at the vet’s today and he was really happy to see us but obviously still hurting a bit from his operation.  It really hurt to see him like that, and hurt even more to know we couldn’t take him back with us yet.

Here he is at the vet, snapped on my cameraphone. Monday can’t come quick enough.

Loki with his little tire.  Saoirse gave it to him for Xmas, though at first he didn’t really play with it.  Here’s proof that he loves it!

Loki, grown up
Here he is having fun out in the local dog park.  Check out that big dog smile!

More Puppy Pics

A few people at the Stream Engineering Centre BBQ on the weekend noted that most of my Loki pictures were very close up with no size reference so they were surprised at how small he is.

So here are a few pictures with other objects/people clearly in the shot so you can see that he’s a fairly small puppy.

More Loki Pics

I’ve set up a gallery for more pictures of Loki, which were requested by several people, all female. He’s quite the ladies’ dog, it seems.

Loki

Sorry I didn’t make it to road hockey today guys. I was out picking up the latest addition to our family: Loki the Boston Terrier.

He’s really friendly though still a little skittish when it comes to us looming over him. He’s incredibly well behaved but loves to play. He’s 13 weeks, 4 days as of this posting.

We weren’t sure of his name, and Loki popped up on the drive home. Bostons are usually quite the little tricksters so that fits, plus it’s very similar to “Lokai” who is also black on one side, white on the other (I know Magner will get that one).
