I went a bit Internet dark over the last weekend and beginning of the week. Not totally, of course. I’m not sure I could actually pull that off. But I avoided public sites while I read through the latest Harry Potter book, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” in order to avoid some Internet jerkoff spoiling anything that happens in the book for me.
This post contains no spoilers, by the way.
But I’m done now, and I really enjoyed the book. It was, as this post title says, very satisfying. Also gripping, frightening, painful, and heartfelt. But I won’t go into detail at this point, just suffice to say it’s great.
What I will talk about is how appreciative that I am that J.K. Rowling decided to create an true ending to this series. With the money pouring in, and I’m sure massive publisher and movie studio pressure behind her to create more profit for them I’m amazed she was able to put a big “The End” stamp on the story. Amazed, and grateful. The world of Harry Potter still has many stories to be told, but this one is over, and, as Neil Gaiman said in The Sandman “Stories have to end. It’s what gives them meaning.”

Tell me the ending!
