I got in the car yesterday to do some errands, turned on the radio and there was Joe Rogan on CFOX! He’s one of my favorite comics, and every once in a while I’ll check out the Joe Rogan Website to see if he’s coming near here. This must have been a recent booking because I had no idea he was in town. I phoned Mel and she made online reservations for the late show at Yuk Yuk’s, and our evening was set.
The show was incredible. We got there fairly early, and even though people were already back to the fourth row we saw a few seats right up front and centre. I asked the guy beside them if they were taken and they weren’t, so we had the best seats in the house!
First up was Yoshi, a Japanese comic and friend of Joe’s. He didn’t seem all that confident but that made his incredibly dirty routine seem even funnier. Next up was Ari Shaffer who was really funny. Already I had a permanent grin on my face, even when the jokes weren’t being told.
Joe Rogan just blew the doors off. My face hurt I laughed so much, and mostly at new material I’d never heard before. I was grabbing my sides, covering my face and laughing out loud more than I have in years.
Afterwards Joe came out to mingle, sign autographs and post for photos. I got my “From The Belly Of The Beast” DVD signed, and he posed for this:
He’s got another two shows tonight. If I wasn’t having my housewarming, I’d go again!
