Sin City opens on Friday. Who’s up for seeing it in Mission? RottenTomatoes has it at 76% which puts it well into the “doesn’t suck” category and several of the negative reviews are complaining mostly about its lack of a moral terra-firma. Wow, way to totally miss the point of the story guys.
It’s time to prove to your friends that you’re worth a damn. Sometimes that means dying, sometimes it means killing a whole lot of people.

Ever hate your friends? Not the deep-down hate that you reserve for those that really deserve it like child molesters and the RIAA, but the kind that somehow makes you happy they’re your friend anyway?
Well I hate Walter Costinak not just because he’s a better web designer than me but also a phenomenal artist. It’s just not fair that he can be so good at so many things.
He’s finally put up his gallery of the excellent Seven Deadly Zombies artwork that he’s been working on. Being his buddy I’ve seen these before but haven’t had the chance to talk about them because he hadn’t gone public with this excrutiating talent online yet. I finally convinced him that the world should see it, and even be able to use it as desktop backgrounds.
Maybe some day he’ll make prints of them. Then my hate shall rise again until he plays a first-person shooter with me and I crush him like a bug. Then I’ll bask in the glow of finally being better at something than him.
My buddy Fahrv is getting married this summer and has set up his wedding blog at HolyFuckingMatrimony.com. He had asked me a while back if I’d do up a Wordpress design based on the artwork they had commissioned for their invitations and I of course said I would. If you visit the blog you’ll see the design. It’s based on Wordpress’ default “Kubrick” layout but with a lot of graphical changes and only a few tweaks to the CSS.
I mention it here not only because I’m proud of my work, but also because I like saying (and typing) Holy Fucking Matrimony.
I’m no fan of winter. It’s odd because I am one of those “aren’t there bears outside?” kind of people so I shouldn’t care much about the weather.
But I love sunshine. And more, and I love wearing shorts and not having to dress warmly. And I really love playing road hockey, which we’re doing not this Saturday but the one after, and I am psyched.
I’m also really out of shape. More than usual, smartmouth. With the Xmas laziness being followed by some New Years lack of caring and then some weird sickness I’ve really slacked off in the “move your fat body” department. But with road hockey on the horizon I’m starting to get into gear. Mel suggested we go to the gym today and my brain couldn’t think of a reason not to, so we did. 20 minutes on the crosstrainer with a 5 minute cooldown. The new iPod was great and seemed to want me to listen to 80s tunes (U2’s “Shadows and Tall Trees” being followed by Bryan Adams’ “Summer of ‘69″) while my heart raced. Man, remember when Bryan Adams wasn’t a ballad singing sellout?
Then I came home just in time to help out with the tail end of my Goon Squad’s Hamidon raid in City of Heroes, netting myself a spiffy super rare Hamidon enhancement. If you don’t play CoH, don’t worry — I got something cool in a game and you really shouldn’t care.
I’ve been testing out some other Wordpress Themes on the site so if it looks differently for a while you’ll know why. I keep seeing themes I like but when I try them I find something I don’t like about them so I come back to this one. I think I’m just going to have to make a new one of my own, otherwise I’ll never be happy.
Oh, and back on the weather — my motorcycle is on the road! Huzzah! It’s a 1985 Kawasaki KZ-440. It’s no bullet bike but it gets me around and is really fun to ride. Boo to rain and hooray for sun!
According to BBC News it seems an episode of the new Doctor Who series with Christoper Eccleston as The Doctor has been leaked to the Internet.
How terrible for them to receive world-wide publicity across their target audience. Yes indeed this is just horrible…
